STRAND (Student Research @ Notre Dame) provides undergraduate students with clear, scheduled, and equitable access to research opportunities.

Mentors are professors, graduate students, or postdocs who can provide meaningful research experiences for undergraduates. To post a project, log in with your NetID and request mentor status.

Students can apply to up to three (3) projects on the project page Log in with your NetID to get started.

STRAND will run four rounds:  at the start of the fall semester for fall positions, mid-fall semester for spring positions, a condensed round at the start of the spring semester, and a late spring round for the following fall.

Projects for Spring 2025

We've listened to feedback from students and faculty from our previous round of research matching. For the current round (Late Fall for Spring 2025), we've expanded the time for faculty to post projects (you now have until November 1), and the students will also have more than two weeks (November 2 - 17) to apply.  Application review will take place from November 18 through December 8.

This expanded round should give everyone a bit more breathing room to get their projects and applications in order.
