AME 47560 - Independent Design Project - Warren

Students are welcome to propose a 1-3 credit independent design project that has primary applications in solid mechanics, dynamics, materials, or development of a laboratory exercise for Lab 2. I encourage projects that involve both experimental and computational modeling components. Projects outside of these areas might be considered.

This project should be pursued during the third or fourth year of the undergraduate curriculum to ensure that enough fundamental knowledge has been obtained to be successful.

The requirements of the project include:

  • 3 hours of work weekly for every credit hour
  • a project summary and plan with deliverable dates
  • weekly 30 minute meeting for progress report and planning
  • a final report of 5 double-spaced pages for each credit hour

Students should email mwarren7@nd.edu with a 1-2 paragraph proposed project plan to be considered for this position. Students currently conducting independent design projects will be prioritized for the limited number of positions available.
