AME - Independent Undergraduate Design Project

AME 47560 - Independent Design Project - Seelinger

Students are welcome to propose a 1-3 credit independent design project that has background in my areas of expertise: robotics, design, dynamics, and manufacturing. Projects outside of these areas might be considered.

I do not have projects prepared. Students must have their own idea for a design & fabrication project that I would help direct.

This project should be pursued during the third or fourth year of the undergraduate curriculum to ensure that enough fundamental knowledge has been obtained to be successful.

The requirements of the project include:

  • 3 hours of work weekly for every credit hour
  • a project summary and plan with deliverable dates
  • weekly meeting for progress report and planning
  • a final report of 5 double-spaced pages for each credit hour

Students should email mseelin1@nd.edu with a 1-2 paragraph proposed project plan to be considered for this position.
