AME - Microfiber for noise reduction

A hair-structure coating called microfiber coating has been developed for noise reduction on a rotating blade. Optimum structure and location of the coating on a rotating blade are still under discussion. This project will tackle on these research questions.

Students who are interested in measuring the blade noise with the microfiber coating and/or fabricating microfiber coating should apply to this project. For further information, please contact Prof. Taka Sakaue (hsakaue@nd.edu).
