BIO - Digitizing the Greene-Nieuwland Herbarium

Containing ~280,000 plants from all over the world and dating to the 1700's, the Greene-Nieuwland Herbarium is an amazing resource for researchers at Notre Dame and other institutions. However, it is currently not databased or digitized. Students will participate in an ongoing and ambitious initiative to digitize the collection to make it more accessible to researchers and students. Student interest will determine which aspect of the project they work on and there are opportunities for students to design an independent project.
