CSE - Independent Technical Animation and Effects Project
Students will select a domain within technical animation or Visual Effects (e.g., 3D, 2D, Spline-based, or Node-based) and develop a project that demonstrates the full production pipeline for that area. The objective is to move beyond simply creating a final asset, but to design and execute a complete workflow.
Requirements:
- Research: Identify and analyze industry-standard methodologies for your chosen field to inform your approach.
- Pipeline Development: Create a structured roadmap that covers every phase: Research & Development (R&D), Asset Preparation, Technical Implementation, and Final Polish.
- Progress Milestones: Students must participate in regular check-ins to ensure the project remains within scope and to receive feedback on technical hurdles.
At the end of the semester students must submit a high-quality visual output of the work as well as a documented outline of the process (e.g., a breakdown video, a technical manual, or a flow chart) explaining how the project moved from start to finish.
