Data assistant in baboon evolution, ecology and behavior
The Archie Lab studies on the evolution of social behavior in animals. Our lab is part of one of the longest running studies of primates in the world, the Amboseli Baboon Research Project in southern Kenya. Undergraduate assistants will aid in data management and entry related to primate life history and behavior, as well as in managing samples inventories in the lab. Students will get experience coding in R, working with animal data and laboratory samples, and interacting with relational databases. Opportunities for guided projects are also available. No prior research experience is required.
Students in the Archie Lab will have the opportunity to handle and enter data, build skills coding, organize laboratory samples, and attend lab meetings and participate in research discussions. Hours are flexible, and responsibilities can be tailored to student interest. There are also opportunities to design independent research projects using decades-long datasets collected at Amboseli.
