EE - Software Demodulation of 802.11b Signal Formats

The objective of this research is to develop algorithms enabling software demodulation of 802.11b Wifi Signals, which are used in the preamble and header of WiFi packets.  The code will be developed in Matlab.

Techniques learned

The student will become familiar with WiFi packet structures and modulation formats.  The student will become familiar with software demodulation techniques (signal processing algorithms), the student will learn how to demodulate the packet header, descramble the bits, and recover the data embedded in the signal.
