CBE - Automated Testbeds for High-Throughput Membrane Characterization

This project focuses on the development, validation, and use of automated testbeds that reduce the time and resources needed to characterize the properties and performance of membranes for water treatment and resource recovery processes.

Name of research group, project, or lab
The WATER Lab
Why join this research group or lab?

The WATER lab is an interdisciplinary research team that addresses important questions regarding membrane-based separations at the water-energy nexus. The team interrogates the fundamental connections between the structure, functionality, and transport properties of polymer membranes in order to guide the molecular design and manufacture of next-generation membranes from advanced materials. These material advantages, which provide more precise control over mass transfer, are then leveraged to design systems that are critical to the purification of drinking water and the generation of sustainable energy resources.

This project focuses on the development, validation, and use of automated testbeds that reduce the time and resources needed to characterize the properties and performance of membranes for water treatment and resource recovery processes.
